How it works

  2. If the document has charts, shapes or floating objects, you'll see what may look different.

What should I know?

  • Floating pictures and text boxes are placed into the normal text flow.
  • Shapes, charts and SmartArt may not appear.
  • Unavailable Word fonts are replaced with similar local fonts, so some line or page breaks can change.
  • Tables of contents and date fields use values saved in the Word file instead of being fully recalculated. Page numbers are recalculated.
  • Comments are omitted.
  • Tracked changes are rendered as accepted text.
  • .doc and .docm aren't supported, and Word form controls become plain content.

Privacy

Your Word file stays on your device. It's read and turned into a PDF inside your browser; the document, its text, images, links and details are never sent to a server, and pictures linked from the internet are never fetched.

Supported formats

Input: Word documents (.docx) up to 40 MB and 500 pages. Old .doc files and macro-enabled .docm files aren't supported. Output: a standard PDF with selectable, searchable text.

Will it look exactly like Microsoft Word?

Most standard document content is preserved, but unavailable fonts and advanced Word objects such as charts or floating shapes can look different.

Are tables supported?

Yes, including multi-page tables and repeated header rows in supported documents.

Can I convert old .doc files?

Not yet. Save the file as .docx first.

Can I edit the PDF afterward?
