Typing Test

1. Choose 1, 3 or 5 minutes (1 minute is the default).
2. Click the text and start typing — the timer starts with your first key.
3. Watch your live WPM, accuracy and mistakes.
4. When time runs out, see your results and try again.

A "word" is counted as 5 characters, including spaces. WPM is the number of correctly typed characters divided by 5, divided by the minutes elapsed. Raw WPM counts every typed character, right or wrong.

Accuracy is the share of your keystrokes that were correct. If you type a wrong letter and fix it with backspace, it still counts as a mistake, so accuracy reflects how cleanly you typed, not just the final text.

• Keep your fingers resting on the home row (ASDF and JKL;).
• Look at the screen, not the keyboard.
• Slow down until you make few mistakes — speed follows accuracy.
• Practice for 5–10 minutes a day rather than one long session.

The test runs entirely in your browser. Your personal best, test count and last 10 results are saved only in this browser's local storage — never on our server.

Works with any physical keyboard. It also works on phones and tablets, but on-screen keyboards are usually slower, so scores aren't directly comparable.
