IBPS and SBI photo, signature, left thumb and declaration size

Bank applications run on the IBPS portal (ibpsreg.ibps.in) ask for four scanned files: a photograph, a signature, a left thumb impression and a handwritten declaration. You also capture a live photo with a webcam or phone during registration.
The photo rules below are quoted from IBPS guideline annexures for 2026 recruitments. The pixel sizes are marked 'preferred' by IBPS, so the KB range is the strict part.
Two photos
Upload a scanned passport-style photo and also capture a live photo through the webcam or phone step. Both must show your face clearly on a light background.

Common rejection reasons
- Photo above 50 KB or below 20 KB.
- Signature written in CAPITAL letters.
- Signature at exam time doesn't match the uploaded one (you can be disqualified).
- Smudged thumb impression.
- Declaration typed, written by someone else, or not in English.
- Photo uploaded in the signature box or the other way round.
How to prepare your files
- 1Scan or photograph each item on plain white paper in good light.

Frequently asked questions
What is the IBPS photo size?
20 KB to 50 KB in JPG/JPEG. IBPS prefers 200 × 230 pixels (4.5 cm × 3.5 cm).
What is the IBPS signature size?
10 KB to 20 KB, 140 × 60 pixels preferred, signed in black ink. Capital letters are not accepted.
What should the handwritten declaration say?
Copy the exact text given in your notice, in English, in your own handwriting with black ink. Do not type it.
Are SBI PO and SBI Clerk the same as IBPS?
SBI applications use the same IBPS portal and usually the same sizes, but always confirm in that recruitment's own notice.
