How to use Government Exam Typing Practice

  1. 1

Choose CPCT, SSC CGL 2026 or Custom Practice.

  2. 2

Pick Exam Simulation (exam rules) or Practice Mode (pause, live speed).

  3. 3

Type the reference passage — the timer keeps running even if you switch tabs.

  4. 4

See your result under that exam's rules, then review each mistake.

Verified exam modes

Each exam mode uses its own timing, scoring and screen behaviour, taken from the organisation's own documents. Every mode shows when it was checked and links to the source. If a rule hasn't been re-checked, the page says "Requirement needs verification" instead of calling it current — you can still practise.

How CPCT NWPM is scored

Words are split at spaces and compared with the reference word in the same position. Gross words = correct + incorrect; NWPM = correct words ÷ minutes; accuracy = correct ÷ gross × 100. If you finish the passage early you can submit, and your actual time is used. Your final text is scored, so a typo you fixed doesn't count as an error; Backspace presses are shown separately.

SSC CGL DEST

The result is a practice estimate: characters typed (as key depressions), an accuracy estimate and errors. It never says pass or fail, because SSC's current notice doesn't publish one threshold for all posts. SSC makes the official qualification decision.

Disclaimer

OneDo Hub is an independent practice tool and is not affiliated with CPCT, MPSeDC, MAP_IT, SSC or other examination authorities. Exam names are used only to describe what you're practising.

Privacy

Everything you type, and any passage you paste, stays in this browser and is never sent to OneDo Hub, analytics or any other service. Practice history is off by default; when you turn it on, only the exam, date, speed, accuracy and mistake count are saved in this browser.

Supported formats

Works best with a physical keyboard on a desktop or laptop. For Hindi, use your computer's Hindi Unicode keyboard (Inscript or a Remington (GAIL) input tool).

Frequently asked questions

Is this the official CPCT typing test?

No. OneDo Hub is an independent practice tool that follows CPCT's published assessment rules. The official CPCT examination system is authoritative.

What speed is currently required for CPCT?

The CPCT Rule Book lists 30 NWPM for English and 20 NWPM for Hindi, each in 15 minutes. Typing is only one part of CPCT qualification.

Does Hindi support Remington (GAIL) and Inscript?

Yes, as practice layouts. This page doesn't convert keys itself: switch your computer to the Hindi Unicode layout you'll use in CPCT, then use the keyboard check before starting.

Does SSC CGL require 2,000 key depressions?

The SSC CGL 2026 notice (Para 13.9.10 (pages 28–29)) says the DEST uses a passage of about 2,000 key depressions in 15 minutes. It doesn't set one pass mark for all posts, and some posts use higher standards.

Does OneDo Hub save what I type?

No. Nothing you type is stored in the cloud. Optional history keeps only numbers on this device.

Can I practice on a phone?

Yes, but use a desktop or laptop with a physical keyboard for realistic exam preparation.
