UPSC applications (Civil Services/IAS, NDA, CDS and others) use the same upload rules on upsconline.nic.in. You upload a passport-size photo, capture a live photo, and upload one image with your signature written three times.
The triple signature is the part most people miss. One image must contain exactly three signatures, one below the other.
Triple signature
Sign three times on plain white paper with black ink, one below the other with space between them, and scan all three in a single JPG image.

Common rejection reasons
- Face covers less than three quarters of the photo.
- Face turned or tilted, or ear lobes not visible.
- Blurred photo or one taken too close to the camera.
- Signature image with one or two signatures instead of exactly three.
- Signatures side by side instead of one below the other, or rotated.
- Lined or coloured paper behind the signatures.
How to prepare your files
- 1Crop your photo so your face fills about three quarters of the frame, then open the photo resizer below (200 KB limit set).
- 2Sign three times on white paper, one below the other, and photograph it straight on.
- 3Open the Signature Resizer below (100 KB limit set). Keep the image between 350 and 500 pixels.
- 4Check both files show the right KB before uploading.
